Rosa! I am loving these pieces of your story. I love your voice. "Sacrifice" is stunning! I am so deeply moved. Cheering you on as you work towards dream projects. ❤️❤️🙏
Oh Rosa this is beautiful! I loved that even before I read the translations I could get what was going on—but then getting to see the translations added so much richness. I'm excited to see the full collection!
This is all just so beautiful Rosa! Love what you’ve shared about the tension in a marriage dynamic you never expected. And your poem is just lovely! Your book is going to be a gift!
and you gather her piece by piece from the ground" I celebrated. Wonderful piece. (My last name means that Christmas = tamales, and I'm grateful that my family stitched our past into the future.)
Love this! It reminds me of our wedding, when my wife used Ruth’s words and vowed that my people would be her people… at the time I was living and working in Congo, and the officiant stopped and looked at her in a bit of shock and said, wow, you’re really taking that literally aren’t you! And she was…we’ve made each other’s people, our people.
(1) I could NOT be more excited for this collection. (2) Holy smokes -- what a beautiful place to call home (3) This might be a my new favorite poem of yours.
Ah, thank you for including the nod to dear Shakespeare,
"Let me not to the marriage of true minds
Admit impediments; love is not love
Which alters when it alteration finds,
Or bends with the remover to remove."
I'm excited for you and have to say, this line in your poetry blurb really spoke to me, "...and how we belong to those things that follow us no matter where we go."
So glad you have help with this wonderful project, Rosa. It's going to be a blessing for so many.
