Oh, Rosa.... I love these last lines, "How much life have I delayed
because I misunderstood change?"
I for one enjoy the changing seasons, although here in Seattle our snow lasts only 2-3 days at most. I imagine in your neck of the woods it's a different story!
I echo the sentiments of the poem, although I do not dread winter. I love the snow. Because I live in a place where winter is a cloudy, heavily overcast season; to me snow is the brightness of winter.
Beautiful -winter and I are not best friends, but there is nothing like a snowfall -so peaceful to watch and seems to bring a holy hush to the day. Then it can melt-ha!
I too dread winter, but this year I am trying to look at it in a new light. I love this poem and perspective. The last lines really hit me! I especially loved “did the green run out of ink”—what a creative way to paint that picture!
Love the lines “It has learned to view as rest / the season I consider death.” I appreciate how this poem somehow encapsulates the rich beauty and overwhelming dread of winter, what a beautiful and symbolic contrast!
Lovely, Rosa! Though I cannot say I relate at all 🤣 many of my love poems are written to snow. I also just enjoy the opportunity to slow down my life a little bit, and get cozy with blankets and snuggle my family 😍

Yes, the wind chill has started and will last the entire season. It can be brutal. But, trying to keep a positive outlook! ❄️🙏🏼 thank you, Jody.

Tristan, write a poem with that line!! “To me, snow is the brightness of winter.” So good. Thank you for your thoughts❤️❄️
Oh my goodness Rosa, that is such a good idea. 🤍
yes I agree with Rosa, do!
Another beautiful poem ❤️
Thank you, Melissa🥹🫶🏼

Thanks friend, I’m trying to do the same. We got this!!! 💪🏼
Perhaps a change is as good as a holiday?
Never thought of it like that before, but I like it!!

I love snow and I want snow because it means winter to this northern girl. But oh my, that last verse about change. That hit me.
Ahhh, thank you L. Being an island girl, winter is tough on me!!
oh my Rosa this is so precisely, brilliantly written, and have a very Emily Dickinson feel! I love it a lot.

Yes this is so good! 🫰🫰🫰
Whew. This is beautiful (and so profound).
Those last lines of poignant introspection!✨
I struggle with the season’s change—but it’s a good reminder to rest.
👍
I have been feeling this too, so very thankful for this lovely reflection! “It has learned to view as rest / the season I consider death.”
