Thanks for sharing the personal narratives—surely not easy. The words were already gorgeous but that made it special. I could connect to something weighty, lovely, and healing when I read it. 🙏
I grieve for and with you in your loss, friend (super late with this but this post just came across my feed). and what a really INCREDIBLE symbol God gave you thought with the mourning dove.
I recently left a comment on this poem, but I just wanted to let you know that this poem encouraged me to write a poem of my own regarding my family’s recent miscarriage. Thank you for your honest and vulnerable writing!
Thank you for sharing these beautiful, yet difficult, words. My little family just experienced such loss. This poem helped me put my own emotions into words. Just shared with my wife!

Thank you, Joel. The poem needed the backstory, I think it definitely makes it come to life 🙏🏼
Very poignant poem, Rosa. I am so sorry for your loss, too, and so glad we can know the love of our Maker in such painful times.
Amen, thank you Bethany❤️🩹
The poem is so lovely and I love mourning dove’s. They are magical and shy.
I love them, too. They’re gentle 🥹
Absolutely stunning Rosa!
Thank you Taylor! ❤️
Mourning, then returning. Yes, I am glad to be human.
❤️🩹❤️🩹 we share these feelings, L.
I don't believe in coincidences either. This poem is beautiful, Rosa! "I am glad to be human" caught me.
Thank you, friend❤️ always grateful for you

also this is extraordinary -
and take a little while. Linger here
beside my branch now lonely.
To be human, not dove—love,
mourn, then return to our shared Maker
that which is no longer my own.
I love your work.
and CONGRATS on the publications!!!

This is beautiful. I returned several times to:
"How quickly do animals forget
their own making? How do these creatures
cope with loss? By undoing nests?
Leaving the rest up to their Maker?"
I'm sorry for the loss of your little one. And I am in complete awe of all your publications--you inspire me!
