What are these buds, but
Poetry from the branches?
Sonnets to the earth
Of rebirth, beauty—
Even though they are not yet
Blossoming fully.
What are these buds, but
Closed petals opening up?
Uncurling gently,
A version of us.
Responding to light’s soft touch.
Now everything blooms.
